What is the Growth Program?
The Growth Program gives youth artists the opportunity to be evaluated and perform. Students send in a video of them showcasing their performing art. A local professional then reviews their performance and gives a detailed evaluation. Students are evaluated based on their Showmanship and Technique including items such as control, creativity, preparedness, interpretation, mastery, and more. All artistic performance types are accepted.
During Covid, participating students will then have their video shared as a virtual recital.

Sara Caudle grew up singing under trained professionals, and in high school excelled in competitive speech and debate. She is a Scottish Highland Dance Teacher and holds a master’s degree in Public History. Before she married her favorite job was History Interpreter at George Washington’s Mount Vernon in Virginia, but has now turned her attention to raising her newborn son.
Deadline for Submission is September 10th
Audition videos are accepted between the 1st and the 10th of the evaluation month.

Audition Video Guidelines:
Ages 18 and under.
All performing art forms accepted.
Group submissions are welcome! (Students, however, may not appear in more than 2 pieces each month).
Student should demonstrate good showmanship.
At the beginning of the video, the student must state their name (first and last) and age.
Before each piece, the student must state the title of the piece and the composer or where the piece can be found.
The student may include up to 2 pieces for evaluation.
Each piece must be 4 minutes or under in length (excluding the spoken introduction at the beginning of the video).
Each piece must be appropriate for a child audience and cannot contain any inappropriate language or behavior. Pieces may be adjusted, within reason, to make it appropriate for child audience members. (Eg: Changing a swear word to an appropriate byword.)
Each piece must be performed as would be presented at a recital. (Please be professional and dress nicely. Costumes are allowed if fitting and/or necessary for the performance.)

Cost and Evaluation
Once your registration has been submitted and accepted, a non-refundable, one time payment of $30 is due. We do not guarantee that each student who auditions will be granted participation in the recital or that all pieces will be accepted. All auditioning students will receive an evaluation form from a professional artist or educator.
The virtual recital which will be made public (website, facebook, etc.) by the 1st of the following month and be shared with Senior Facilities.
Students may opt in or out of any public postings on their mandatory registration form.
Audition videos will be accepted between the 1st and the 10th of each month. Audition videos will then be viewed by the evaluator and the virtual recital compiled and made live by the 1st of the following month.
